American Race Cars Congratulat
Rustin Mayse claimed the 2006 DragRaceResults.com Bracket Series Super Pro Championship in November after a back and forth season-ending battle with Luke Bogacki. Rustin, just 18 years of age, held off the “elder” Bogacki (25) by less than a point, as the two youngsters actually finished the season tied in the standings, but Mayse persevered via the series first tie breaker: event wins (Mayse claimed two event titles throughout the season, to Bogacki’s one). Behind the two leaders was Rustin’s father Robbie Mayse, who finished the season in third place within the national series.
“We’d like to congratulate Rustin obviously, on his championship, as well as Luke and Robbie,” said American Race Cars co-owner Mark Horton. “Rustin Mayse is really a class young man who has shown his talents behind the wheel, and we’re very proud to be associated with him and his family. Rustin, Robbie, and Luke were essentially the only customers we had chasing the DragRaceResults.com Bracket Series in 2006, and for them to end up 1-2-3 is a testament to their hard work and driving ability--and it makes us look good!”
All three of the competitors mentioned compete with an American Race Cars Patriot Series Swing-Arm dragster. The machines are fabricated at the American Race Cars shop near Toledo, OH, by Mark Horton and Travis Colangelo, along with an experienced and dedicated staff. Horton and Colangelo are racers themselves: competitors may remember Horton from his tenure under the Summit Racing Equipment banner, where he earned an IHRA Super Rod World Championship in 1999.
American Race Cars has seen a monumental growth in business and exposure since opening their doors in late 2004, and have enjoyed on-track success from several customers including the Mayse family and Luke Bogacki. Additional winning American Race Cars customers include Scotty Richardson, Dave Connolly, Chris Wilson, Chris Reynolds, Chuck Chapman, the Batyik family, the Schmidt family, and more!
“American Race Cars definitely played a huge role in my championship,” stressed Rustin Mayse. “I felt comfortable in the car from the moment we picked it up, and it’s been the most consistent machine I’ve ever driven. Plus, the customer service and support we‘ve received from Mark and Travis are second to none.”
American Race Cars will once again be a contingency sponsor along the DragRaceResults.com Bracket Series in 2007, in addition to supporting the weekly bracket program at Norwalk Raceway Park. Several more perennial winners are making the switch to American Race Cars for 2007, including Rusty Cook, Rock Haas, Steve Furr, Ricky Baehr, Mike Fuqua, Sherman Adcock, Jr., Rob Kropfeld, and the Rienschield family.
